Law of War Manual: Chapter 11 – Military Occupation

After searching for an infographic or presentation covering just Chapter 11 of the Law of War Manual (2023) by the DOD, I could not find one that I liked, so I created one.

The manual itself contains 19 chapters (with the last containing the Documentary Appendix), while this presentation I created, “Law of War Manual: Chapter 11 – Military Occupation,” covers only the 11th chapter (sections 1 through 17).

There are other sections in that chapter, but I covered just the first 17 because they are the ones I found most helpful to me. These sections cover the duties and details about the powers of Belligerent Occupiers.

Here is a link to the presentation, “Law of War Manual: Chapter 11 – Military Occupation.” I hope you will find it helpful. Please feel free to share it with others, with credit attributed to Ruthless Red Pen for the PowerPoint and the Department of Defense for the original manual.

  1. It appears that my comments 1 and 2 tests failed but I do see the 3rd attempt was successful (above).

Posting the Department of Defense Law of War Manual, Chapter 11 is a great idea and timely given how close we are to and election. It’s very handy and well done!

    • Thank you so much, Stephen! And also for your diligence to make sure your comments get published. I appreciate your time very much!

If you think of any other documents that you or others may find helpful in this tumultuous season (before and after the election), please don’t hesitate to mention them, and I would be happy to consider covering them in other PowerPoints, as well.

      Blessings!
